Border Crossing

October 31st 2017

We're excited to announce a chamber larp, related to "The Quota" will feature in The Smoke: London's International Larp Festival!

"The Quota: Border Crossing"

The 90 minute larp will focus on the moment of departure and what it means to pass through the conceptual border between normal life and the ‘other’ life of the refugee. You will play an English refugee hoping to cross the border into Gweriniaeth Pobl Cymru (The People’s Republic of Wales), by any means necessary. You will be invited to explore what has propelled or compelled your character to this point, and the hopes and fears they hold for the uncertain future before them.

The larp is supported by an immersive soundscape by the sound artist Vanessa Massera.

Tickets for "The Smoke" will be available via their website from the 13th November.

Article 50 Triggered

27th March 2017

Today the Government of the United Kingdom triggered Article 50—signalling their intention to leave The EU—a divisive decision that could lead to the break-up of the UK.

Today we are announcing a larp entitled  “The Quota”—a larp about borders, nations, and refugees. In The Quota, you will play refugees and asylum seekers in a detention centre on the border between England and Wales. You will take on the role of one of these residents, sent to the holding facility because you wish to leave England and seek a new life across the border. With strict quotas and controls for immigration, only a few of you will make it.

The Quota will be an international larp running from 24th to 27th May 2018 in central England.
It is a joint production between Broken Dreams LRP and The Avalon Corporation. For further information, join our Facebook group:
